The Weather Channel began naming winter storms in October 2012, to the irritation of pretty much no one except rival forecasting service Accuweather. However, when news of the naming scheme was announced, folks in the meteorological community wanted to know by what criteria such storms would be named.

Evidently, the only criterion is that names be geek-approved.
I can only guess at what the next name will be, but I can certainly hope…
