I’ve been enjoying Series 6 of Doctor Who quite a bit. I dig the Silence (and by “dig” I mean “am scared shitless by”). I enjoyed the Black Spot episode. I am amused that Rory has become to Doctor Who sort of as Kenny is to South Park. I found Mrs. TARDIS to be quite… well… sexy. (I’m not a big fan of the Amy Pond voice-over introduction, but whatever.)
Speaking of The Doctor’s Wife (this weekend’s Neil Gaiman episode), I found out this cool bit of trivia online — the original schematics for the TARDIS console the Doctor and Idris build from scrap:
If it looks like it was designed by a 12-year-old girl, that’s because it was.
She’s called Susannah, she submitted her design as part of a CBBC contest to design your own TARDIS console.
I’m bringing this up only to point out the great injustice of this contest, which was apparently open to children from age 12 all the way down to age 6.
“What’s the problem?” you ask.
“The 5-years-old,” I say. “The didn’t let the 5-year-olds enter.”
Because if they let the 5-year-olds play, then they would have been forced to give the prize to the Ladybug, an American, and those British bastards would never do that.

And let’s be clear here: the Ladybug would have won, hands down. After all, much of her art these days is dedicated to Doctor Who. Take, for example, this scene from the Series 5 finale, which features the TARDIS, Amy (with long hair), Rory (with short hair), and the Doctor (with fez and mop).

Or consider this reproduction of River Song’s diary and sonic screwdriver from the Silence in the Library episode.

Or consider this fan-pic of the Doctor and young Amelia frolicking with a Dalek (whom they have convinced to be nice) in a field of flowers.

Yeah, she would’ve kicked their limey arses.
Well, here’s to you, my little Dalek. I know you’d EXTERMINATE! the competition.
