The Queen B is part of a local theater company, and in preparation for their upcoming production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat she spends most evenings at rehearsal, leaving the Ladybug and I to fend for ourselves. (Cartoons and candy, anyone?) Tonight, the Queen B returned home just as the Ladybug was readying herself for bed.
“I have a present for you!” announced the Queen B in a sing-song voice.
The Ladybug immediately turned and ran to her mom, bouncing up and down with excitement and anticipation of her gift.
The Queen B reached into her backpack and produced from it a nifty T-shirt decorated with the psychedelic logo for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The Ladybug grabbed the shirt and held it up against her, judging its fit against her diminutive frame.
“Cool,” she said, adding “but I thought you were getting me a real present.”
